The Indian Rummy game is a display of skill and offers cash prizes online. Tremendously skilled players swarm the online game to win these cash prizes, leaving no chance for the beginners. To win, beginners must avoid making common mistakes that are jeopardizing their game. Following are the mistakes made by beginners:
- Not Arranging the Cards – Beginners often fail to arrange their cards, essentially putting their game at stake. If the cards are not organized, a person can discard a useful card in confusion. It is imperative to arrange your cards according to their suit to make sequences and according to their value to make sets.
- Treating Every Player Similarly – This mistake might seem insignificant, but all the players have different strategies and thinking. You should keep track of what cards they are picking up or discarding and be aware of their moves by figuring out their possible combinations.
- Not considering the math – Your opponents are using this trick on you, so you might as well use it on them. Track their moves and keep a mental note of what cards they are discarding and picking up, and figure out all the possible combinations. Probability comes into play here. If you figure out the pattern, you can block them from creating their sequences and sets.
- Rushing – Take time to play your game and analyze everything. Rushing the game will only trouble you and prevent you from winning the game.
- Discarding the Wild Card – Beginners generally tend to discard the joker without understanding its importance. The joker can be used to replace any card in a sequence and be a complete game-changer.
- Confusing between a pure sequence and a sequence – A pure sequence and a sequence are two different things. A pure sequence is necessary to win the game and consists of 4 consecutive cards of the same suit. A sequence is simply 3 or 4 consecutive cards where one card can be the joker. The joker is used to replace any card in the sequence and comes in handy.
- Slow Decision-Making – As a beginner, keeping up with the game and making fast decisions can be overwhelming. By practicing, you can improve your decision-making in the game and make fast decisions whenever required.
- Playing the Game Emotionally – People can play with their emotions sometimes. In situations when things are not working out their way, they can get angry or frustrated or even sad. Emotions are a hindrance to their decision-making and will further cost them the game.
- Declaring Show Without Verification – You must always verify all your sequences and sets before showing them to the opponents. If there is any disparity, you will lose 80 points.
